To most people, this is an aggressively standard and reticent Xaela, with little worthy of remark about him save for his relative shortness of stature and the wrappings around his eyes. He says little and is seen less.To the locals in the know, Batbayar—better known these days by his new (awful) and apparently-inescapable street name of 'Horsefucker Goro', in spite of his best efforts to impress upon people otherwise—is a very recently elevated brother and enforcer of the Society's will upon Wansui. He is infamously cruel, particularly as the unforgiving overseer of the Hop Lee Seafood Processing Plant, where workers nearly universally describe him as a 'sadist'... but there's no denying that productivity is way, way up. Also notable is his recent promotion: as of his recent recruitment into the Tian Di Hui, he is one of the extremely few 'blackscales' that wears the iconic funerary garb of the highbinder. Batbayar is vehemently prideful about having earned the privilege, though it seems unclear to most what exactly earned him this massive increase in status.Before he put on the whites, he was just one of the many others like him that live in diaspora across Doma, albeit one of those rare few that had managed to start treading water by being crueller or cleverer than his peers. A soft voice, a slow hand, and a strange fascination with philosophy altogether lend him the great likelihood of being misjudged by his neighbors as weak or softhearted, which he seems to purposefully enjoy and exploit.Batbayar's history prior to even arriving in Wansui as a teenager, however, is a mystery to most. Despite the years he's spent toiling alongside his fellow unfortunates—even drifting between other nearby towns whenever work grew scarce—next to no one even seems to know what clan he is from, much less more. His violent disinterest in answering any questions about very much of anything usually satisfies most curiosity.
